Thought for the day : )

~Anger cannot be overcome by anger. If someone is angry with you, and you show anger in return, the result is a disaster. On the other hand, if you control your anger and show its opposite – love, compassion, tolerance and patience – not only will you remain peaceful, but the other person’s anger will also diminish.~Dalai Lama

This is one of the hardest lessons, it takes extreme self-awareness to remain calm in the mist of anger but in order for anger to grow it has to be fed, if you don’t feed it, it burns out quickly, it is the response in kind that makes it grow and become destructive and hurtful to yourself and another. Practice today not responding with the same, practice with the opposite and see how much quicker disagreements dissolve. If you have a hard time with this, ask yourself “Why do I want to fight? What am I getting out of this?”
